Candice Rugg, PMHNP-BC

Candice Marie Rugg, PMHNP is a board-certified nurse practitioner who received her advanced
practice education from University of California, San Francisco and specialty training in the San
Francisco Department of Veteran’s Affairs with a focus on complex medication management
and substance use disorders as well as providing trauma-focused CBT and CBT for anxiety and
depression. Since 2011, she has worked extensively in community mental health since in both
assertive community treatment outpatient and inpatient settings, providing individual therapy
and medication management. She is especially interested in treating mood disorders and
trauma, as well as couples conflict and interpersonal issues. Other interests include utilizing
mind-body approaches to therapy for weight loss and harm reduction in substance use
Ms. Rugg has a passion for helping each client meet their individual goals and applies a holistic
approach to her client’s care. She currently offers medication management and psychiatric
services to adults in the San Francisco clinics and via video and telemedicine throughout the state of California.
Areas of interest include: Mood Disorders, Substance Use, Adjustment Disorders, Trauma Recovery, Body Dysmorphia and Interpersonal Conflicts
