Bay Area after moving to the US in 2009, and then went on to complete her general psychiatry training at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center program, TX, followed by her Child & Adolescent Psychiatry fellowship training at Hofstra Northwell Health program, NY. Her training has equipped her to manage a diverse array of patients from all age groups with a wide range of psychiatric conditions. Her philosophy involves making the patient/ families feel heard and understood while helping them tailor their treatment goals. She educates her patients to make well-informed treatment choices and believes in achieving overall well-being of an individual rather than targeting a limited set of symptoms. She is also well attuned to her patient’s cultural needs and tries her best to reduce stigma and prejudice related to mental illness.

medical school in 2011 from St. George’s University. Dr. Al-Dhaher trained at Long Island Jewish-Northwell Hospital, New York for her adult residency, where she fulfilled the role of chief resident. She then trained at New York University and Bellevue Hospital for her child and adolescent fellowship.

Dr. Al-Dhaher integrates psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioral, and family-based therapy modalities into her practice. When working with children and teenagers she is passionate about empowering the entire family unit, and strengthening school and community supports. She believes mindfulness, healthy lifestyle, and strong social connections are crucial to improving mental health and treating the person, not the illness.

In her spare time, Dr. Al-Dhaher enjoys traveling and spending time with her family and friends.
