Smita Reddy, M.D. is an adult psychiatrist. She was born and raised in the southern part of India and is a fourth generation physician in her family, but the first psychiatrist in the clan. Her passion for psychiatry was fueled by the fact that it was such a stigmatized field despite the huge need, not just in India, but globally. She graduated medical school in India and completed her adult general psychiatry residency training in 2011 from Rosalind Franklin University, North Chicago (otherwise known as Chicago Medical School). Afterward, Dr. Reddy worked at their community clinic as an Adult Psychiatrist with a special interest in, women in the reproductive age group and trauma. She enjoys teaching as much as she enjoys practicing psychiatry. She taught medical students during her residency and after graduating she taught as a clinical instructor at their outpatient clinic. Dr. Reddy is also the Medical Director of a youth counseling group in Chicago.
