She was the top graduating senior of the 1996 class being awarded the University Medal for excellence in undergraduate studies, outstanding community service and the promise of future scholarship and contributions to society. She considered and interviewed for both traditional MD programs and MD/PhD programs before deciding to attend the University of California, San Francisco School of Medicine for her medical degree. She was involved in clinical research, teaching, mentorship and community service as a medical student, psychiatry resident and volunteer faculty member at the University of California, San Francisco. Dr. Albert has experience treating a wide range of psychiatric conditions such as depression, mood disorders, anxiety, psychosis, post-partum depression, and other chronic mental illnesses with medication management and many other treatment modalities. She enjoys now being able to focus her current clinical work helping patients with medication management at Community Psychiatry’s San Mateo office. Dr. Albert enjoys athletics, especially outdoor sports. She is on a competitive dragon boat team and has a regular Pilates practice.

lescent psychiatry. Originally from Lima, Peru, Dr. Roman earned her degree in Medicine at San Marcos University in Lima, Peru. She completed her residency in psychiatry at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia and completed a fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry at St. Mary’s Hospital in San Francisco, California. Most recently (2017 to 2018), in New York City, Dr. Roman worked with new immigrants from Central America and the Caribbean.

Apart from her professional work, Dr. Roman enjoys walks with her dog, movies from Hollywood’s golden age, travel and she trained in ballet as a young adult.
