She was the top graduating senior of the 1996 class being awarded the University Medal for excellence in undergraduate studies, outstanding community service and the promise of future scholarship and contributions to society. She considered and interviewed for both traditional MD programs and MD/PhD programs before deciding to attend the University of California, San Francisco School of Medicine for her medical degree. She was involved in clinical research, teaching, mentorship and community service as a medical student, psychiatry resident and volunteer faculty member at the University of California, San Francisco. Dr. Albert has experience treating a wide range of psychiatric conditions such as depression, mood disorders, anxiety, psychosis, post-partum depression, and other chronic mental illnesses with medication management and many other treatment modalities. She enjoys now being able to focus her current clinical work helping patients with medication management at Community Psychiatry’s San Mateo office. Dr. Albert enjoys athletics, especially outdoor sports. She is on a competitive dragon boat team and has a regular Pilates practice.

Dr. Mehta went into medical school to become a family practice physician, with interests in caring for the whole patient and preventive medicine. During her training, she discovered her passion for psychiatry, where she felt the well-being of a whole patient, both physical and mental, truly meet. Dr. Mehta believes in individualized care and patient autonomy and encourages her patients to be an integral part of the decision-making process. She focuses on using a coaching style of care to help the patient develop good health habits that encourage their mental well-being, in addition to traditional pharmacological approaches.
