Led by Dr. Mark Levine, Easing Fear in Times of Crisis is a LIVE four-week online group session that uses mindfulness-based training to teach a “gentle curious attitude” to whatever negative thoughts or stress arises, so we can create healthy mental conditions that reduce suffering and enhance pleasant moments.

But many negative emotions such as depression, anxiety, panic, frustration or despair impair our ability to see and solve problems. Yet, it is possible to train our attention in a different way that frees us from this struggle with negative thoughts and feelings.”

LIVE ONLINE GROUP SESSIONS

Sponsored by Community Psychiatry, this online group session will consist of four live 75-minute sessions that will cover the following topics:

  • The difference between stress and suffering
  • How negative thoughts create suffering
  • Why negative thoughts are so compelling
  • How awareness protects us from negative thoughts
  • How awareness enhances happiness
  • The evidence that mindfulness changes the brain
  • Practical skills for reducing stress and enhancing happiness

ABOUT MARK LEVINE, M.D.

Dr. Mark Levine is a board-certified psychiatrist and founder of Community Psychiatry. He teaches and supervises a wide variety of Mindfulness-based programs including MBSR, Mindfulness-based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Google’s Search Inside Yourself Leadership program.

For more than thirty years, Dr. Levine has worked in both clinical and corporate settings teaching people how to reduce stress and enhance well-being. As a physician consultant to researchers from Harvard University, Dr. Levine is studying the benefits of mindfulness training for reducing stress and enhancing happiness.
