Lorerky Ramirez Moya, M.D.

Dr. Ramirez Moya is a board eligible child and adolescent psychiatrist. While pregnant with her son, she completed a child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship in 2011 at the University of Mexico. She focused on learning developmental disabilities and autism at the Center of Developmental Disabilities, UNM. Two years later, her son was diagnosed with autism and a rare genetic disease. Since then, she has been working and advocating for the developmental disability community. As a mother, she understands the struggles of dealing with insurance, schools and community services for a child with a developmental disability. As a doctor, she understands the difficulties in managing medications for patients who are facing such issues and who could have very unique responses to psychopharmacology. She understands the importance to work as a team with other healthcare professionals such as; occupational therapists, speech pathologists, physical therapists, case managers, neurologists, and school staff. Dr. Ramirez-Moya is from Costa Rica and is bilingual. She is also committed to taking care of Hispanic and bilingual children who struggle with mental illness and cultural adaptation.
