About Shannon Shaffer, PMHNP-BC
Shannon Shaffer, PMHNP-BC is a board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner who graduated from the University of Saint Joseph in West Hartford, CT. While attending graduate school, Shannon worked in a psychiatric acute inpatient facility at New Britain Hospital. Most recently, she worked on active duty for the United States Air Force and treated active duty service members for a wide range of mental health disorders. After this experience, Shannon developed a special interest in treating PTSD, depression, and anxiety disorders.Shannon strives to create a caring and safe environment for patients to heal utilizing both evidence-based practices and holistic approaches such as mindfulness, counseling, and nutrition. Shannon looks forward to serving her community and helping patients reach their treatment goals.
In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family and running.
