ience from Baylor University and graduated from medical school at Ross University. Dr. Hassan received her training as an adult psychiatry resident at the University of Southern California where she advanced into their Child and Adolescent Fellowship, serving as chief fellow in her final year.

Dr. Hassan has worked extensively with many patients during her career, treating a variety of mental health conditions. She brings warmth and her personal touch to each case, investing much of her own energy in cultivating others’ inner strength and personal growth. Dr. Hassan has a particular passion for integrative psychiatry utilizing her skills to help develop lifestyle changes, strengthen patient meditative and mindfulness practices, as well as exploring alternative treatments with patients. Her characteristic holistic approach to mental health has been effective in improving patient wellness. She is adept at discussing psychopharmacology options while concurrently engaging all of her patients in psychotherapy. Dr. Hassan hopes to be able to help her patients accomplish their mental health goals and looks forward to continue serving those living in the Los Angeles area.

She practiced for 8 years as an ANCC certified psychiatric registered nurse III at a large academic medical center in Chicago, IL. In addition to her charge nurse role, she was the head trainer for the hospital’s aggression management program which educated staff on how to effectively de-escalate agitated and/or aggressive patient crises. Dr. Dugan acted as an advocate by providing education on a variety of mental health topics to different departments in the medical center to reduce stigma, enhance awareness, and promote sustained recovery for patients with mental health disorders. She also became certified in Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation Therapy for depression.

As a nurse practitioner, Dr. Dugan has predominantly treated adults with a wide range of mental health disorders including but not limited to: depression, PTSD, ADHD, schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, bipolar disorder, OCD, anxiety disorders, and substance use. Dr. Dugan provides psychiatric evaluations and medication management with special attention to individual needs, personal history, and stressful or traumatic life experiences.  You will find that Dr. Dugan strives to create an environment of collaboration, warmth, comfort, empathy, and trust in her practice.
